A few years ago, I was teaching children who had no idea who Jesus is. I was desperate to help them understand my love for Him and His word. I wanted to pass on some core ideas because I didn’t know how long I’d be with them. An urgency to share what I knew led to this list. I thank the Lord, through His precious Holy Spirit for giving these Truth Sentences to me. These are core truths for all Christians. My hope is these help as you teach young children, whether yours or someone else’s. Teach the truth.
I see these being used in children’s Sunday School classes, Mission classes such as Awana or Royal Ambassadors, Acteens, Girls in Action. Perhaps a child can earn a certificate for memorizing the list and verse.
I know at Buried Treasures Home where I serve, the ladies receive a valued certificate for the memorization of these Truth Sentences.
Here’s other ways for you to use them:
*Repeat them in the car while you run errands with your children or grandchildren.
*Work on one each night before bedtime with older children.
*With young preschoolers, go over the concepts while they take their bath or at the breakfast table
*Use these as a project with a couple of friends. Start memorizing the concept and verse and meet once a month to check your progress with each other.
You will be amazed how these truths change your world view. You will begin to see these concepts play out in your life. Once you have them, you can share the reason for the Hope in you. Your confidence about who God is will flourish.
Let me know in the comments or send me a message telling me how you plan to use these Truth Sentences.
