Are you still putting off starting a morning quiet time with the Lord? Or maybe you started, but you didn’t persevere, or something got you off track. Let me encourage you to start, or begin again. It is so worth it.
After you become a Christian, part of your expected discipleship and sanctification is a habit of spending quiet, intentional time with the Lord. After all, the goal of the Christian is to increasingly become more like Jesus! You become like the One you spend time with.
I can testify that I have never regretted showing up for my morning quiet time with the Lord. You must understand entertainment is not part of it. You’ll have to scroll your phone if that’s what you want. It is you getting to meet with the One True Holy God and Creator of the Universe! WOW!
The most successful Christians throughout my earthly history adopted mornings for this special time, and testify to their happiness with their choice. Most, if not all had busy, purposeful lives, and that’s the reason they made this most important morning choice! These saints were and are my examples.

I believe this one habit is the best habit I have in my life. All the other good habits flow from this one.

Verses to consider:
In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Psalm 143:8
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5
David knew the love of God. Even though this verse references another sinful choice, David experienced God’s Mercy.
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning;great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
How would you ever know about God’s new mercies if you aren’t waiting to receive them each morning? Are you eager to thank him for the gift of the breath of life?
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Psalm 90:14
But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 59:16
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Mark 1:35
Here we know Jesus woke and made an intentional choice to go pray in solitude. It stands to reason that if sinless Jesus relied on His Father, how much more do I need Him.
I hope that whatever season you find yourself in you will be determined to get up in the morning and keep on doing it.
