How is the season for you? I’ve heard so many people this year remind us that the meaning of Christmas is Jesus’ birth. I love hearing that truth. It simplifies everything. While the festivities are wonderful, it is His birth we celebrate.

I’ve been reading and writing Psalm 107, and this morning I finished it. I read the last verse with joy. It is the remedy for every depression, anxiety, boredom, futility, and ungratefulness that we still bring into the season. It sprang off the page:
Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the LORD.
Psalm 107:43
It reminded me be obedient to that scripture. And I’ve come up with a list of how you can be encouraged today:
- Read Psalm 107 out loud.
- Write Psalm 107 each day from now until Christmas.
- Start making a list! Check it twice of all the loving deeds of the LORD in your life.
- Sing a Christmas carol to Jesus.
- Share with a family member or friend a loving deed of the LORD in your life.
I hope you take a break from your angst, self-pity, sorrow, depression, or whatever negative state you may find yourself in and do this spiritual exercise. You will come away renewed, and your perspective on whatever is going on in your life will change.
Remember, Christmas is about Jesus’ birth, not all the trappings the world says it is. It is Jesus’ birth we celebrate. He was born to SAVE. Honor Him. Thank Him for saving you.
Stay faithful to Jesus~
