No matter what, if you are a faithful follower of Jesus, you can count on Him to come through. It may not be how you would choose, but you can trust whatever the way, He is busy working it out for your good and His glory.

One of my go-to passages from the Bible is Lamentations 3:22-24 which says,

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

It does require waiting, but His word promises He is enough.

Recently, I discovered the connection between the Lamentations passage and the glorious hymn, “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” Thomas Chisolm wrote the words to this hymn in 1923. He was inspired by the Bible passage in Lamentations, which was later put to music. I’ve known this song longer than I can remember. Congregational singing in the church brought it into my life, and years of hymn singing put it into my mind.
