My thoughts opened my mind’s door as the day began. One anxious thought. One utterance to God for help and peace. Thankfully, I peeked out the window to see the world. Instead, the moon was waiting for me to ponder its suspension in the soft blue sky of early dawn. Relief hit me. God was still in control. God was in control of not just His moon but of my world.

Outcomes only matter to me. God is concerned about my heart, and He would want me concerned about the same (Proverbs 24:12, I Samuel 16:7).
Staring up to the morning moon, a thought came of a lady who said she had moved every month. And she does not like where she is now. When I asked what caused the moves, she thought she was looking for a place like home. I believe she was on a journey for more than a temporary dwelling on earth (Acts 17:28).
Years ago, I was speaking at a prayer conference. I read my own thoughts about home from a journal entry. It seemed like another voice speaking when I heard mine say, “Jesus is my home.” What? God, the all-powerful Creator of heaven and earth, and the One who saved my soul, helped me understand my devotion to Him.
God’s love for His children is as dependable as His hold on that moon in the sky. And yet, generation after generation beat the same drum (Matthew 6:19-21). Chasing things that don’t last and looking for home.
In contrast, the God of heaven and earth supplies us daily with benefits that we often do not notice or take for granted (Psalm 68:19). He only seeks love from our redeemed hearts.

So many move around the globe. Many looking for purpose. Others directed totally by God. Are you away from your earthly home? Do you have an earthly home? Are you glad or sad? Will Jesus be your home?
Prayer: Thank you, God, for holding the moon and reminding me you are in control of all things and that my heart is your home, and all my hope is found in you (Psalm 38:15).

Valerie, that is an interesting question: Who is Your Home? It is reassuring to remember that my heart is home to God my creator. I love that God can be our home wherever in the world we are.

Yes, I find people make home mostly in people they love, but people don’t provide the eternality God does. I may write an article about this. I’m thankful my heart is His home though.

Good to hear from you and to be reminded to know that God is in control, which we all know, but sometimes I live as if I am. Be safe and God Bless you both and your work. Sarah M.
