Anger

How are you doing with anger? The challenge after you recognize it is taming it. Once you’ve cooperated with the enemy as Ephesians 4:26-27 describes, often, your desire to change is strong. You are defeated. But change must be a spiritual exercise. Human effort will not work. Your anger has proven it.

Our friend Augustine of Hippo had a winning formula.

What comfort.

In Christ, I can find rest in Him.

My soul can rest.

The next time you are angry, meet with God. When you acknowledge your anger and ask Him to help you, your body relaxes, your thoughts slow, and you sense His presence again.

Anger is a blinking light that you are restless, not resting in God. Turn back to God. Find your solitude once again. Trust Him for your future. That is often the place of restlessness. Check your desires. Are they God’s for your life? Surrender again.
