Happy New Year to my readers, and to new readers, thank you for subscribing.
Everyone, please share my blog with your family and friends. It’s free, and it’s encouraging to me to have new subscribers!
I found in one of my favorite books (Daily Strength for Daily Needs) a quote that ministered to my heart. I thought of you and am passing it along.
There are several notable thoughts in the quote below. A couple that struck a chord was the fact that regret accomplishes nothing in a Christian’s life. I struggle with that sometimes. Do you? Another is that if you are somewhere today that you didn’t choose, God will be your Helper and make the season worthy if you use His tools.
It seems appropriate to end 2025 looking into the face of our loving God, knowing He has His victories. Let’s stay close to the Lord in 2026!

https://valerierumfelt.com/2025/12/26/13-productive-actions-for-the-week-between-christmas-and-the-new-year/: End Well and Keep GoingNow, on to the quote from an old saint. It is not hard to understand if you will ponder it and pray through it.

“It is not by regretting what is irreparable that true work is to be done, but by making the best of what we are. It is not by complaining that we have not the right tools, but by using well the tools we have. What we are, and where we are, is God’s providential arrangement—God’s doing, though it may be man’s misdoing; and the manly and the wise way is to look your disadvantages in the face, and see what can be made out of them. Life, like war, is a series of mistakes, and he is not the best Christian nor the best general who makes the fewest false steps. He is the best who wins the most splendid victories by the retrieval of mistakes. Forget mistakes; organize victory out of mistakes.”
