The Bible is clear about Scripture’s usefulness, flawless nature, and power to transform. Although there are more places, Psalm 119 is a chapter dedicated to that declaration. In my quiet time recently, I discovered the International Children’s Bible version of 2 Timothy 3:16-17. An often familiar, but possibly not appreciated verse came alive once again.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching how to live right. Using the Scriptures, the person who serves God will be ready and will have everything he needs to do every good work.”

A few times on my website, I’ve written articles about particular biblical practices one can choose to reduce anxiety. Over millennia, many have testified that reading a Scripture passage brings comfort. If you need help today with anxiety, you might try a few activities such as:
- Writing Scripture
- Reading Scripture out loud
- Recording Scripture to listen to later
- Praying Scripture
- Diagramming Scripture to look for descriptors, characters, action, obedience, God’s traits, and more.
- Listening to Scripture while cooking, running errands, or doing chores.
- Drawing or painting a passage of Scripture
Whatever Saturday looks like for you now, choosing a Scripture activity is rewarding. It’s never too late to get started, and don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments which one you chose. I’d love to hear from you.
May the Lord be praised~
